Privacy policy
This text is a translation provided for your understanding. The German version is the legally binding one.
With this policy we inform you, in accordance with Articles 13 and 14 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which personal data we process.

2. No cookies, no third-party services
This website sets no cookies and embeds no content from external servers. Fonts are served from our own server; there are no map, analytics, advertising or social media services. There is no reach measurement and no user tracking. For this reason no cookie banner is required on this website and no consent under Section 25 TDDDG is needed.
3. Encryption
This website is delivered over an encrypted connection (TLS/HTTPS). You can recognise this by the padlock symbol in your browser's address bar.
4. Visiting the website (server log files)
When you visit this website, the hosting provider automatically stores data transmitted by your browser in log files: IP address, date and time of access, page requested, volume of data transferred, browser type and operating system, and the page previously visited.
- Purpose: delivering the website, operational security, defending against attacks and error analysis.
- Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure and trouble-free operation of the website.
- Retention period: Log data is stored by the hosting provider only for as long as necessary for the purposes described and is then deleted automatically
- Recipient: Netlify, Inc., San Francisco, USA (data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR; transfers to the USA are safeguarded by Netlify's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework)
5. Enquiries via the form
When you send an enquiry to a venue using the form, we process the details you provide: your name, email address, phone number if given, preferred date, number of guests, your message and the venue you selected. Only name and email address are mandatory – all other details are optional.
We pass these details on to the venue you selected. That is the purpose of your enquiry: so the venue can reply to you. No transfer to other venues or to any other third party takes place. Technically, the form is transmitted via our hosting provider Netlify acting as a processor (see section 4); beyond that, no data is transferred outside the European Union.
- Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures at your request) and Article 6(1)(a) GDPR (your explicit consent given in the form).
- Withdrawal: You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future – informally by email to the address above. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
- Retention period: We delete your enquiry once it has been dealt with and no follow-up questions are expected, at the latest after 12 months. Statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.
- Necessity: Providing the data is neither required by law nor by contract. Without your name and email address, however, we cannot forward your enquiry.
6. Contact by email or phone
If you write or call us directly, we process your details solely in order to deal with your request. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contract-related enquiries.
7. Venue listings in the directory
In the directory we publish details of wedding and banquet halls: company name, address, phone number, email address and website where available, capacity and types of event. Where a venue is run by a natural person – for example as a sole trader – these business details may constitute personal data. As we did not obtain this data from the data subject, we inform you pursuant to Article 14 GDPR:
- Categories of data: contact and location details of the business, and information about its offering (capacity, types of event, facilities).
- Source of the data: exclusively publicly available sources – the venues' websites and generally accessible business directories. The source and the date it was checked are shown on every venue page.
- Purpose: operating a business directory that helps couples find a suitable venue and passes enquiries on to the venues.
- Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest, and that of our users, lies in a complete and searchable market overview. Only the professional sphere is affected, not the private one; the data was already publicly accessible.
- Retention period: for as long as the listing is kept in the directory.
- Recipients: the listings are publicly accessible on the internet.
Right to object: Venue operators may object to publication at any time and request correction or deletion of their listing – informally by email, without giving reasons. We act on this promptly.
8. Links to the venues' websites
On the venue pages we link to the businesses' websites and to a Google Maps search for directions. This content is not embedded in our page and is only loaded once you actively click the link. As soon as you do, you leave our website and the privacy policy of the respective provider applies; that provider then also receives your IP address. We have no influence over this processing.
9. Your rights
- Access to the data processed (Article 15 GDPR)
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Article 16 GDPR)
- Erasure (Article 17 GDPR)
- Restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR)
- Data portability (Article 20 GDPR)
- Withdrawal of consent with effect for the future (Article 7(3) GDPR)
Right to object under Article 21 GDPR: Where we process data on the basis of a legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), you may object to that processing on grounds relating to your particular situation.
Right to lodge a complaint: You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your residence or of the alleged infringement. The authority responsible for North Rhine-Westphalia is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf.
10. Changes to this policy
We update this privacy policy when the website or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies.
